Prop baits, as the name implies, have one or two small propellers attached at the front and or rear of the bait. Prop baits can be used for targeting fish close to cover and also as a search bait covering lots of water.

As with any fishing situation, let the fish tell you how fast and how aggressive you should be moving the bait. Sometimes they want it moving along nicely and other times with long pauses in between rod twitches.
