Swim Jigs

Swim jigs or swimming jigs are designed to be fished as a moving bait as opposed to a casting jig which is fished on or near the bottom. The baits nose has a more streamlined shape so that the jig can come through cover and weeds.

Swim jigs need to be used with a trailer attached to the hook. There are various types of trailers as you will see in the videos and some of them have different applications.

Most of the time a swim jig will be fished in shallow water and usually with a steady retrieve although sometimes a shaking or pumping retrieve will work better.
